“I bought a print of Lydia’s stunning bluebell wood painting, the colour and the atmosphere was so evocative of afternoons as a child picking bluebells in my local woodland so I was sold straight away, but the detail of the piece is absolutely incredible – it now has pride of place in my house and I smile everytime I see it!” Meg

“I commissioned Lydia to paint our two dogs as a Christmas gift for my husband, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

From the start, communication was easy, thoughtful, and genuinely enjoyable. She really listens — and somehow manages to capture not just how they look, but who they are (the eyes in particular are spot on).

The whole process felt smooth and reassuring, and the finished piece exceeded expectations. It was meant as a gift, but it’s quickly become something we’ll keep and treasure for years.

Would absolutely recommend — both for the quality of the work and just how easy she is to deal with from start to finish.” Sophie

“Buying this painting has been such a special experience for us, and it continues to mean so much years later. We first came across Lydia’s work at a Christmas craft fair, and even though her stall was tucked away in a smaller, dimly lit room, her art stood out immediately. It completely drew us in.

From the very beginning, Lydia was absolutely wonderful to work with – thoughtful, professional, and genuinely passionate about her art. She even remembered to reach out to us months later, just as promised, to arrange varnishing once the painting had fully cured. That level of care and follow-through is so rare and deeply appreciated.

She also included some beautiful prints and stickers, which we’ve proudly framed in our living room alongside the original piece. It’s always a joy to see her at fairs and follow her new work – her creativity never stops evolving.

What drew my husband and me to this painting instantly was the incredible level of detail packed into a relatively small canvas. The colours are rich and captivating, and there’s a real sense of magic woven through it, like a glimpse into a living, breathing natural world. It completely stopped us in our tracks.

This was actually the first original painting I’ve ever bought (and the only one still), which says everything. As an artist myself, I have a real appreciation for the level of skill and detail in her work – and there’s something uniquely hers that simply can’t be replicated.

We feel very lucky to own one of her pieces, and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.” Irina

“I adore the print I bought from you at the Haddington market last year! It was just for me, I needed something on my wall in the study as we moved into a new build. The picture really draws me in and reminds me of the woods round where I live. I’ve walked along so many little forest paths that look just like that! I love art that reminds me of home and what I love” Emma

“I love and admire Lydia’s art so it is always hard to decide which painting to buy! Sometimes the choice is related to a place I’m particularly fond of,  but there are often occasions when the painting simply ‘speaks’ to me and I am in awe of her use of colour and delicate brush strokes. She is able, with equal skill, to capture a beautiful woodland scene, a glorious sunset or the individual characteristics of an animal, fish or bird. With her acute observational skills I feel certain she would also be an excellent portrait artist ….if she is ever able to find the time!” Joy
